How To Read Faster

Total votes: 0

Teaching yourself to read faster is one of the easiest that you can do to improve yourself. It doesn't require tests, exams, courses or anything other than you doing a few simple things that take minutes to implement and have benefits that will last a life time.

All that you have to do is make a few changes to your reading style. These changes are so small but so instantly rewarding that you'll wonder why you haven't been doing them since you first learned to read.

  • The first thing to do is use your finger as a guide when you read. Put your finger just behind the first word on the page and move it along the line keeping your eye just in front of it.  This keeps your eyes focused on the text instead of wandering around.
  • Don't try and pronounce the words in your head as your reading. This just slows you down. Your brain knows what the word is as soon as your eyes see it.
  • Learn to miss out words that aren't important such as "the", "and", "or" etc

That's three very simple things to start doing to improve your reading speed. Start add those things to your reading habits right now and you'll see how effective they are.
