5.Enable USB debugging mode(Settings --> Applications --> Development --> USB Debugging)
Following is the Detailed Method to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 :
Now,to begin with the process to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 , initially you need to download Odin software. Following is the ODIN download link. Odin Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2
Next, we need to download the CF-Root Kernel to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 .Following are the download links of files for rooting Galaxy Note II ATT.
Download Root ATT Galaxy Note 2 file (for LTE )
Having done with the downloading, you will get a .tar file .Don't try to extract it . Keep it as it is.
Note : If you don't get a .tar file then you extract it to get a .tar file
Now you need to switch of your device AT&T Galaxy Note 2 and then your device need to boot in the download mode. In order to do the same ,
do press the Volume down Key and OK button and Power Button simultaneously.Now, when you get the Warning message just press the Volume UP key to enter the download mode.
Now with the phone being in download mode, plug in your phone into the PC via USB cable and then open the ODIN tool (Downloaded from step 1).
Once the phone is connected , ID:COM section in the top left corner would become yellow thereby indicating that connection has been established with the device successfully.
Now make sure that you tick on F.Reset Time and Auto Reboot Checkboxes
Now in the PDA tab in odin , upload the tar file (CF-Auto-Root-.tar.md5) you had extracted (from step 2).
Now everything required has been set for rooting of AT&T Galaxy Note 2 to take place.You can check the image below.Off course you need to upload that .tar file in PDA section!!
Now in order to start the process to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 , click on the start tab and in no time, it will Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 . While this process is on your device may reboot several times but no need to worry about it.
Then when the final reboot takes place, the process to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 2 is completed and "Pass" would be displayed on top left corner in ODIN and also the phone will automatically reboot and then you can disconnect your Samsung AT&T Galaxy Note 2 from Computer.
Go to your app drawer.You will see a "Superuser" app installed indicating that Galaxy Note II has been rooted.
